Safe Fenced In Park

All fenced in may not be what the Cowboys and Indians of the old West desired but it’s a   great thing for parents who bring their wild youngin’s to Gator By the Bay.

So grab a couple straw bales, throw down a beach towel, set-up under a tree and declare   home base for your family time at Gator.  The site is fenced and has ample security and,   radio-connected staff ready to lend a hand if ever needed.
Now you all are free to roam and enjoy the treasurers and pleasures of this Louisiana   inspired festival.  Relax and have a good time… this is what it’s all about.
One good thing about Spanish Landing Park is its uneven terrain.  There is space for kids –   of any age – to roll down a “hill”, stretch out, watch clouds, eat corn-on-the-cob, build a   block castle fort, or a really tall…or short tower.

Kids Make, See, Experience

Make an amazingly decorated, fantastic–one-of-a-kind hat from a simple brown grocery sack to wear all day.
See, what’s that roaming around the festival?   A two-legged 7 foot Gator and a six-legged Crawfish?
Who wants to get inside the mouth of Bay-Bee a 40 foot paisley alligator? gator
What do you think about holding a live crawfish? gator

Music, Music, Music!

Then there is the music!  Drifting to the beat from one performance area to the next the happy sounds seems to be lifted by the bay breeze and somehow get right beneath your feet into the earth.  How about everybody dance?  Kids are the first ones to hit the dance floor.   And there are 4 such floors just waiting to carry everyone from toddlers to doddlers.   As we say in Louisiana Allons Dancer: Everyone dance!

Mid-Day Parade

Be sure to catch the mid-day Parade and throw beads to the folks along the parade route.   You can’t miss the parade because it is led by a real authentic brass band and a bunch of folks showing us how New Orleans does “second-line”.

Food Kids Like

Kids not fans of Etouffee, Jambalaya or spicy mud bugs?   Okay then how about hot dogs, fries, cornbread, rice and vegetables, hamburgers and icecream?

This is a how to celebrate Mother’s Day in a way that makes us all thankful to be alive and free to be what our moms always wanted for us - to simply be our joyful selves.
